My Story

My journey is a story of growth and learning from challenges. I attended a band 2 school, but I never let that define my potential. Through persistence and overcoming numerous obstacles, I was able to get into HKUST. I consider myself fortunate to be able to work towards my goals every day, knowing that not everyone has this opportunity. This realization has become my greatest motivation. I aspire to be a role model who inspires others to discover their purpose and realize their potential. To achieve this, I actively engage in various activities to build my character. In the business realm, I participate in different projects and competitions to broaden my understanding of the industry. At the same time, I am dedicated to making a social impact, striving to contribute positively to my community and beyond.

Volunteering Experience

Podcast host and organizor of a carnival by KELY Support Group
I am the co-host of the NGO's podcast to discuss on topics like mental health and reflection of school life. I helped organize the "Be Present: Cherish Your Gifts Youth Wellbeing Carnival," a special event aimed at boosting mental health, overall wellbeing, and positive development in young people. My role involved managing various aspects of the event, such as reaching out to performers, setting up workshops, and handling the ticket sales process. During the carnival, I led a team of over 10 volunteers, ensuring everything ran smoothly and creating a lively and engaging environment for everyone who attended.
Camp voluteer by Eternal Flame Action
I am one of the volunteers at a camp that helped the youth to find their goals and passion in a 3-day camp through different activities and reflections.

Job experience

Mergers and Acquisitions Intern of Palazzari & Turries
I worked at a boutique M&A advisory focused on cross-border mid-market transactions
Fintech Business Intern of On-us
I collaborated with a C-suite and a team of 4 to develop a comprehensive playbook for HR professionals to enhance workplace mental health. This involved conducting in-depth interviews with 10 HR heads and analyzing survey data gathered from 1,000 employees across multiple organizations. I also developed a comprehensive market insight deck by analyzing data from various regions and incorporating surveys and research, enabling marketers to customize their coupons for targeted goals.

Melo Experience

Before joining Melo, picture this: a young, eager 18-year-old with an overwhelming passion for mental health, but with a rather...shall we say, "shallow" understanding of the world. On the very first meeting, sitting alongside top leaders like Bernard Chan, Alan Lau, and our co-founder Louisa Mak, I felt like a kid who accidentally walked into a movie set. During the whole meeting, I struggled to say a word. Why? A part of it is because I was stunned by Miss Hong Kong's beauty and the other part is the collective net worth in the room. (Kidding! But, seriously, it was intimidating!!) ‍ And I am going to be totally honest about the first few JDs. It was tough. I tried to muster up the courage to ask questions and failed so badly. I was the guy throwing out questions that might have made a few people wonder if I'd been living under a rock. But every eyebrow raised was a lesson learned. Fast forward, and there I was at the Melo graduation, holding the mic and hosting the roundtable as a moderator. And sure, there might have been a controversial point or two (Kenny, I still remember that look of disbelief at what I said), but what I did that day is something that I can’t imagine myself doing before Melo.Melo has been my crash course in breaking out of my comfort zone. It's made me braver, sharper, and more than a little wiser. I've seen, met, and learned from the best, and it's given me a roadmap to be the change-maker I always wanted to be. And for my passion? It's transformed from just being an emotion to a driving force behind real actions. Looking forward to my next chapter with Project Melo. Here's to more raised eyebrows, learning curves, and making a real impact among youth!
